What is Oneopinion?
Oneopinion is a survey site that sends survey opportunities straight to your email. You can make money answering surveys or testing products.
The site will pay you in points for completing the activities after that you can exchange those point to cash or gift cards.
Oneopinion was founded in 2011 and is currently owned by Dynata. Oneopinion conducts surveys on behalf of the world’s leading market research companies. You can learn about new products and services and influence their development by sharing your opinions with the site.
How does it work?
After completing your sign up, you will be directed to take the survey. Each survey starts with some basic profile questions.
After you answer the pre-qualifier profile questions, either you will be asked to complete the survey or you will be screened out and given 50 points for trying. You can earn 50 points for the first 5 surveys you do not qualify for each day.
OneOpinion will send you survey invitations via email or you can login to their site and find surveys to join. The survey will usually start with one or two basic questions to see if you are paying attention.
For example, they will ask you “Which of the following states does NOT start with the letter A?” Then they gave you the following to choose from: Montana, Alaska, Alabama, and Arizona.
How to sign up?
You must be 13 years old to sign up, if you are 13 years old you need parent approval otherwise 18 years or above. Sign up for this platform is really different from other sites. You can chit-chat with a Virtual Assistant name Emily. She will ask for your basic information.
The thing about OneOpinion was that they wouldn’t approve of you instantly once you were done. They will thank you for your interest and ask you to wait 3 to five days before they inform you of your status. You should receive a popup that looks like this once you’re done.
If you get approved and most of the time, you should, then you should be able to access your dashboard. And your dashboard look like this.
How to make money with Oneopinion?
There are two ways to make money with this platform. I will go over all of them right now.
#1 Taking Surveys
When a new survey becomes available, you’ll receive an email survey invite.
They will tell you the survey topic, how many points they offer and the time will take to complete.
There are some screener questions before you can participate to confirm that you match the target demographics.
The amount of surveys you can participate in will depend on each day. Oneopinion aims to best match you with open surveys. If there is no survey, you may receive a message asking you to try back the next day.
Surveys pay up to 5,000 points and can take up to 30 minutes. Again, when you screen out you’ll receive 50 points as compensation.
There are new surveys each week, but whether you receive an invite will depend on your specific demographics.
You should be aware that if your account is inactive for 90 days, it will set to inactive status. If there is no further activity for 180 days, you will lose your points and your account will be removed.

#2 Product Testing
You may receive an invite to participate in product testing. This typically involves new products that are not yet on the market. However, product testing won’t be available for new members. But if you are a regular participant, you may receive an invite.
Product testing involves trying new products in your home and then telling OneOpinion about your experience. You can earn up to $50 per product test.
How much money can you make?
Most of the surveys that you complete on the platform appear to pay anywhere from $0.50 to $5. the OneOpinion points system works like
- 10 points = $0.01
- 100 points = $0.10
- 1000 points = $1.00
For product testing opportunities, you can earn up to $50 the opportunity to have free products delivered to you.
How do you get paid?
You can see your current points balance by logging into the Oneopinion site. They also include your points balance on each survey invitation they send you via email.
In order to cash out, you will need to reach at least 25,000 points equivalent to $25 before you’re can get your reward.
Once you hit your 25,000 points thresholds, then you can either redeem your points for an instant virtual Visa Debit Card, Paypal and gift card. Just keep in mind that if you choose the card mail to your home, you will have to wait 10 days to receive it.
If you choose paypal you will receive your money in couple days.
If you decide to choose gift card, the physical cards are sent via UPS to your home address, but it can take up to 10 days to arrive. There is a choice of popular brands like Amazon, Starbucks and Target. The minimum redemption for any gift card is $25.
Before you can receive virtual rewards, you will need to go through extra verification. This involves answering a few personal security questions. This is for fraud prevention and OneOpinion has no access to your security question responses.
Now let’s talk about Pros Vs Cons
Pros
- High-quality site – The site is professional, fresh, and easy to use.
- Multiple household accounts – They encourage you to invite other members of your household to join the platform. There is no restriction on how many members are at the same address, and this includes teens, who can join with parental permission.
- Disqualification reward – They offer a 50 points bonus if you screen out of a survey to compensate you for your time. This is good because it means you are not wasting your time since you will still get paid for it.
- Pre-survey verification – This helps you establish legitimacy, showing the site that you are a real person, and lets the user know that their opinions are being taken seriously.
- No Fees – They don’t charge anything to the member or to participate in any studies, including product testing.
Cons
- Product testing is not available to new members – It would have been a great help for newbies if product testing was available right from the start. But, again this is likely due to what the client needs and how many opportunities they have available.
- Account suspension – if you are inactive for 180 days you will lose your point and also, they will suspend your account.
- Hard to qualify – There is a high possibility of screening out of a survey. Although there are 50 points compensations, it can be very frustrating.
- Survey opportunities are limited – this issue more from the fact that availability is dependent on your location and on the client’s needs, it would have been better if the opportunities are not limited.
